To the Rav, distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem,

Rav Ch.[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I obtained, with pleasure, news of you some time ago, through the great Rav, Chassid who fears Hashem, Rav E. Simpson[2]. In the future, you will gladden me by writing to me directly to give news of ... and of the members of his family. You will let me know that they are doing well, materially and spiritually. I thank you in advance.

Rav E. Simpson informed me that Chassidus* can be widely disseminated in your city. It would be good — and even indispensable — that you organize the action with all who can take part in it. All should direct their efforts in this sense, in the most suitable manner, and thereby fulfill the Divine desire to dwell here below.

Chassidus*, commenting on this expression, emphasizes that a person finds himself in his dwelling in the most evident manner — without veil, without concealment. No thought can grasp the Holy One, blessed be He, and only Torah and mitzvos* enable one to perceive Him, for "Torah and the Holy One, blessed be He, are one."

But Hashem does not appear clearly in the revealed part of the Torah, and only Chassidus*, which deals with ahavas Hashem* and yiras Hashem*, with reflection on His greatness, enables one to realize this dirah*, this dwelling for Hashem here below.
