To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, has good

conduct, of multiple accomplishments,

the Rav Asher (note 1: Rav A. Sosonkin),

I greet you and bless you,

I wish you Mazal Tov*, on the occasion of your arrival, with the members of your family, and your settlement in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt. May Hashem cause that it be at a good and fruitful moment, down to the smallest detail, both materially and spiritually and that there be fulfilled the promise of our Sages (note 2: At the end of chapter 5 of tractate Avos*) according to which "the reward is proportionate to the effort," in conformity with the content of the verse: "I praise You, Hashem, for You have consoled me," in good health, in joy and enthusiasm. You will derive much Jewish and Chassidic* satisfaction from all your children.

It is said (note 3: According to tractate Avos*, chapter 4, at Mishnah* 2) that: "a Mitzvah* draws another" and that of redemption (note 4: Of captives) is, in this case, particularly important. May Hashem therefore cause that a great number, quantitative and qualitative, be liberated from constriction toward expansion, with all the interpretations that one can give, on this subject and very soon. With my blessing of good health and to give me good news,

N.B.: Taking into account the reason for your settlement in the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, it is clear that you must spend some time with your family. You will no doubt write to me on this subject, with all the necessary details. I have just received your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Adar*, a date on which one multiplies one's joy (note 5: According to tractate Taanis* 26b). I will mention your name, at a propitious moment, near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us.

ויהי רצון מתאים להענין דמצוה גוררת מצוה (והרי מצוה דפדיון וכו' מצוה רבה היא), שרבים בכמות ורבים באיכות יוציאם השי"ת מן המיצר אל המרחב בכל הפירושים ובעגלא דידן.
