To the attention of Mr. Yosef Dekel (note 1: See, regarding him, letter no. 8699),

I greet you and bless you,

I received, in its time, your letter, in which you indicated to me that you sent me the books that you published. I therefore waited to receive them to acknowledge receipt and this is now done. I thank you therefore for these books. A simple glance suffices to establish that much work was invested in them. Moreover, in this case, there is not only work but also competence.

I learned, with particular pleasure, in your letter, of the feelings of your heart regarding the 19th of Kislev*, the date of the liberation of the Admur HaZaken*, the one hundred and fiftieth year since his passing having just concluded. May Hashem cause that his teaching, in which he underscores in particular the necessity of concrete action (note 2: See, notably, the first part of the Tanya*, at chapter 35), showing that study and practice are two inseparable dimensions, exercise its influence on each one of us and bring you motivation for all the days of the year. Moreover, we are a few days away from the anniversary of the passing of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, which will be the 10th of Shevat*. He was his successor, pursuing his ways, and may his merit therefore protect each one of us, within all of Yisrael*. With my respects and my blessing to give me good news, always and every day,

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו בו כותב ששולח לי הספרים שהוציא לאור, וחכיתי באישור מכתבו עד בוא הספרים, שזה עתה הגיעו.

ות"ח בעד הספרים, אשר גם בסקירה ראשונה ניכר שהושקעה בהם מלאכה רבה, ובכגון זה הרי אין זו רק מלאכה אלא גם חכמה.

בקורת רוח מיוחדת קראתי במכתבו על דבר רגשות לבבו בקשר עם יום י"ט כסלו, גאולת רבנו הזקן, שזה עתה נסתיימה שנת הק"ן להסתלקותו. ויהי רצון שתורת רבנו הזקן - שאצלו היתה הדגשה מיוחדת שהתורה תהי' הוראה למעשה, עד שתורה ומעשה יהיו חד - תשפיע על כל אחד מאתנו שפע התעוררות בכל ימות השנה.

ובפרט בעמדנו ימים ספורים קודם יום הסתלקות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ביו"ד שבט, ממלא מקומו וממשיך בדרכיו, יהי רצון שגם זכותו יגן על כל אחד מאתנו בתוככי כלל ישראל.
