devotes himself to communal needs, has extensive

knowledge, the Rav Shlomo Yosef (note 1: Rav S. Y. Zevin. See, regarding him, letter no. 8390) Shlita*,

I greet you and bless you,

My secretary, Mr. Nissan Mindel, transmitted to me your greetings, as well as the content of your exchange, in particular regarding Kfar Chabad*. Of course, I was particularly satisfied to learn of the interest that our friend (note 2: The Rebbe* specifies: "our friend, etc., etc."), Mr. Shazar Shlita* (note 3: See, regarding him, letter no. 8254), takes in the Kfar*. You yourself will support him in this matter in the manner that is fitting. I enclose a copy of the letter that I address to Mr. Shazar (note 4: This refers to letter no. 8661).

May Hashem cause that what is said concerning our brothers, the children of Yisrael* who are in the country where we previously lived (note 5: Soviet Russia), be fulfilled very soon. Here again, one can observe, in addition to some other justifications, the fundamental need to develop the Kfar*, not only in the spiritual domain, but also materially. Of course, this means that one must broaden the place and the territory, as it is said: "it is very broad and knows the highest elevation." One will consult the Zohar*, volume 2, at Parshas 234, and the Biurei HaZohar*, at the end of Parshas Pekudei*. With my respects and my blessing,
