By the grace of Hashem,

To Mr. Baruch Azanya,

I greet you and bless you,

I received the greetings of your brother and yours, through the intermediary of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod*. I became aware, in particular, of the help that you bring to this institution. Of course, there is no need to thank him who accomplishes a Mitzvah*, for this Mitzvah* itself is but thanksgiving. Despite this, I wished to express to you my gratitude for the help that you bring to the Yeshivah*, thereby proving that your roots are still alive within you (note 1: The addressee of this letter comes from a family of Chabad* Chassidim*).

In conformity with the teaching of the days of Chanukah*, during which one adds light, from day to day, the true light being: "the candle (which) is a Mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," may Hashem cause it to be so in all domains, that you have, in particular, good health, that you go on adding, both materially and spiritually, all the more so since Jews are (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 8414) a unique people on the earth (note 3: The Rebbe* underlines the words: "unique on the earth"). שלום וברכה!

על ידי הנהלת ישיבת תומכי-תמימים בלוד קבלתי פ"ש מאחיו וממנו, ובפרט בנוגע עזרתם לישיבה. ומובן שבענין של מצוה אין צורך בנתינת תורה במיוחד, שהרי המצוה עצמה כולה אומרת תודה. עם כל זה רצוני להביע קורת רוחי מהעזר שלהם להישיבה, המראה שגזע צור מחצבתם חי ופועל אצלם.

ויהי רצון אשר כהוראת ימי חנוכה שמוסיפין בהם באור מיום ליום, והרי אור אמתי הוא נר מצוה ותורה אור, יהי' כן בכל עניניהם, לרבות בריאות טובה, וילכו הלוך ומוסיף בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד, ובפרט שהיהודים הם גוי אחד בארץ .
