To my close relative, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I thank you for having transmitted to me the good news of your return home (note 2: Following an illness), at a good and fruitful moment. May Hashem cause you to have a complete and prompt recovery.

As the Admur HaZaken*, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, teaches, it is fitting to live with the Sidrah* of the week. In this case, the beginning and the commencement of that of Vayeira* is: "Hashem revealed Himself to him... in the heat of the day." Our Sages explain that both: "He revealed Himself to him" (note 3: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "It is not specified: 'to Avraham*,' for these terms apply to every Jew, as the Meor Einayim* underlines, at the beginning of the Parshas Vayeira*") and: "in the heat of the day" were for the healing of our father Avraham* (note 4: It was for this purpose that Hashem revealed Himself to him and for this purpose that He caused the day to be warm). וע"פ הוראת רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשו"ע, מ'דארף לעבען מיט דער סדרה פון דער וואך, הרי זה גם כן ראשית והתחלת הפרשה, וירא אליו ה' וגו' כחום היום, וכפירוש חז"ל אשר הן הוירא אליו* והן כחום היום, היו בשביל רפואת אברהם אבינו.

בכבוד ובברכת שבתא טבא, ושבת היא מלזעוק ורפו"ק לבוא ופ"ש כל ב"ב שי'.
