I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter (note 1: This letter was addressed to several people. See the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 25, at page 494. See also letter no. 8233). In conformity with the well-known explanation (note 2: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "At the end of the Chassidic* discourse entitled: Lech Lecha* of 5667") on the beginning of the Parshah* of this week, whose entire Sidrah* bears the name, may Hashem cause each one, within all of Israel, to reveal within himself the force that is conferred by this Injunction, of general import (note 3: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "See the beginning of the four parts of the Tur* and Shulchan Aruch*. And, the Shulchan Aruch* of the Admur HaZaken*, at the same reference, Orach Chaim*, beginning of chapter 1, says: 'One must overcome one's evil inclination. A man who is alone at home does not have the same attitude as when he stands before a great king'"), Lech Lecha*, and that this Injunction be accomplished in each one, in joy and enthusiasm:

"Go for yourself from your land," that which is yours, the materiality (note 4: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "See the Tanya*, at chapter 29, which says: 'The animal soul of the average man is this man, properly speaking'") and the coarseness, "from your birthplace," from the elements with which one has grown up, to which one is accustomed (note 5: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "See the verse Bereishis* 50, 23 and the Tanya* says, at chapter 13: 'On the contrary, one will strengthen oneself even more'"), "from the house of your father," from the nature (note 6: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "See tractate Eduyos*, chapter 2, at the Mishnah* 9, which says: 'The father confers a merit upon the son'") of the animal soul, from birth, "toward the land that I will show you," precisely through a heavenly revelation, for "you will not be able to find yourself upon it, nor to know the force of this land, which is profound and hidden" (note 7: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "Zohar*, volume 1, at page 78a. One will see the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov* on the verse: 'For you will be a land of desire,' in the Hayom Yom*, at the date of 17 Iyar*").

And, may what is said subsequently be concretely accomplished: "I will make of you (note 8: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "That is to say a new creation, as the Midrash Tanchuma* explains, commenting on this verse")... and you will be a blessing (note 9: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "According to the Midrash Tanchuma*, at this reference")," the highest elevation that can be, to the point of becoming oneself a blessing, the source of the blessing, that is granted to Israel, "and all the families of the earth will be blessed," so that the part of the world that one receives be elevated and blessed, to the point that: "Strangers will come and will tend your flocks," thereby transforming themselves and rising to receive the blessing and to integrate themselves (note 10: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "As the Admur HaZaken* explains, in the Torah Or*, at the end of the Parshas Vayeitzei*") among the children of Israel. ביותר אחריות בעתיד ,ביסוס בתיהן על יסודות תורה ומצוה.
ומדתו של הקב״ה הרי היא מדה כנגד מדה בתוספת מרובה על
העיקר ,שכל המשתתפות והמסייעות בהחזקת המוסד ,יבורכו בנחת
אמיתי שהוא נחת יהודי וחסידי מילדיהם ונכדיהם שי׳.
