By the grace of Hashem,

fifteenth day of Av* 5722,

Brooklyn, New York,

To the women of Chabad*, group of Kiryat Gat*,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I bless you and greet you,

I received, with pleasure, your letter announcing good news to me, the creation of your new group, the beginning of your activity and your good resolutions. May Hashem cause you to know success in your action, which is conducted within the framework of your program and the accomplishments of the organization of the women of Chabad*, in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, both quantitatively and qualitatively.

We are on a propitious day, the fifteenth of Av* and the Mishnah* affirms (note 1: In tractate Taanis* 26b) that Israel did not possess festivals equivalent to it. Then, "the daughters of Yerushalayim* went out, danced in the vineyards and said: it is the woman having the fear of Hashem who must be praised. Go out and see, daughters of Tzion*, King Shlomo*," that is to say the king who possesses peace (note 2: Shlomo* literally means: "his peace"), "the day of His marriage: this is the giving of the Torah*. The day of the joy of His heart: this is the rebuilding of the Temple" which will take place very soon and in our days. May Hashem therefore cause all these promises to be fulfilled, that the women and daughters of Israel receive a major role therein. The merit of the women and young women of Chabad* is particularly important in this matter, since they themselves make evident the value of the Torah* and that of the Mitzvos* in every place where their influence is exercised, in order to hasten the realization of these promises and the rebuilding of the Temple, very soon. With my blessing to give good news, to know success in your sacred mission, as well as in all your needs and in those of the members of your family,

ובעמדנו ביום סגולה חמשה עשר באב, וכדבר משנה שלא היו ימים טובים כמותו לישראל, ובנות ירושלים היו יוצאות וחולות בכרמים ואומרות אשה יראת ה' היא תתהלל כו' צאינה וראינה בנות ציון במלך שלמה - שהשלום שלו - גו' ביום חתונתו זה מתן תורה וביום שמחת לבו זה בנין בית המקדש שיבנה במהרה בימינו, יהי רצון שיקויימו כל היעודים הללו, שנשי ובנות ישראל לקחו ולוקחות בהם חלק ראשון, וגדול זכות נשי ובנות חב"ד בפרט להחדיר יוקר התורה ויוקר המצוות בכל מקום שידן מגעת ולהחיש קיום היעודים הנ"ל ועד לבנין בית המקדש בקרוב ממש.

בברכה לבשו"ט ולהצלחה בעבודתן בקדש ובכל המצטרך להן ולב"ב שיחיו.
