By the grace of Hashem,

To the young men, members of the group Shevet Naftali* (note 1: The tribe of Naftali)

of the (note 2: Summer camp) Gan Yisrael*, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter with pleasure and I was satisfied by the good decision you have taken, that of continuing (note 3: After the closing of the summer camp) the daily recitation of the Tehillim*. One Mitzvah* draws another and, without doubt, you will thus advance, from one stage to the next, in the study of the Torah* and the practice of the Mitzvos*, with Chassidic* joy and enthusiasm. Likewise, you will exercise a positive influence on others. In conformity with your request, I will mention your names near the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, so that the wish of your heart be positively fulfilled.

We are on a propitious day, the fifteenth of Av* and there was no festival for Israel comparable to it, as the Mishnah* affirms (note 4: In tractate Taanis* 26b). This day immediately follows the period "between the afflictions" (note 5: Between 17 Tammuz* and 9 Av*) which commemorates the destruction of the Temple. The remembrance of these days must allow one to repair the transgression that was then committed and to hasten the complete redemption, through our righteous Moshiach*. May Hashem therefore cause each one to have the merit of realizing his personal redemption, by strengthening himself in the Torah*, the Mitzvos* and good deeds, on a daily basis. Indeed, this personal redemption is the preamble to the collective redemption, which will take place very soon and in our days. I would be satisfied to obtain good news from each one of you. May Hashem cause your path to be favorable. With my blessing,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבכם ונהניתי מהחלטתכם הטובה להמשיך באמירת תהלים בשיעור יומי, וכיון שמצוה גוררת מצוה, בודאי שילכו מחיל אל חיל בלימוד התורה וקיום המצוות, בשמחה והתלהבות חסידותית, ובהשפעה טובה על זולתם.

כבקשתכם, אזכיר אתכם על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נבג"מ זי"ע למילוי משאלות לבכם לטובה.

ובעמדנו ביום סגולה, חמשה עשר באב, שלא היו ימים טובים כמותו בישראל, כדבר משנה, והבא תיכף אחר תקופת בין המצרים לזכר החורבן, שזכרון ימים אלו הוא כדי לתקן את המעוות ולקרב את הגאולה השלימה על ידי משיח צדקנו, יהי רצון שכל אחד ואחד יזכה לגאולה פרטית על ידי התחזקות בתורה ומצוות ומעשים טובים בחיי היום-יום, שהגאולה הפרטית היא הקדמה לגאולה הכללית במהרה בימינו.
