To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Shneur Zalman HaLevi (note 2: Rav Sh. Z. Duchman, of Brooklyn. See, regarding him, letter no. 7859),

I greet you and bless you,

I learned with pleasure that you have taken the initiative of intensifying the activities that are conducted on behalf of the Kollel* Chabad* Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess*, founded and directed by the Admur HaZaken*, then by our masters and leaders, until the leader of our generation, my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us. They themselves, in their time, devoted a particular affection to the activities conducted for the Kollel* Chabad*. And, how much more is this the case in our generation and in our days, when one literally hears the footsteps of Moshiach*.

Now, the redemption depends (note 3: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "See Igeres HaKodesh*, chapter 4") on our actions and our accomplishments. At present, in particular, all that is connected to our Holy Land is current. These activities constitute an addition to the land of life (note 4: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "Eretz Yisrael*, according to the verse Yechezkel* 20, 26, the Avos* of Rabbi Nassan*, at the end of chapter 34 and the Zohar*, volume 1, page 115a"), to the study of our Torah*, Torah* of life, and to the practice of the Mitzvos*, of which it is said (note 5: Yechezkel* 20, 11 and 13, 21): "One shall live by them." In fact, such are the objective and the purpose of the Kollel* Chabad*, as the letters of our masters and leaders specify at length, on this subject.

May Hashem therefore cause these activities, as well as the dissemination of the wellsprings (note 6: Of Chassidus*), of the Words of the living Hashem, outward, to hasten the true and complete redemption, through our righteous Moshiach*, very soon and truly in our days. And, may these days, "between the afflictions" (note 7: Two fasts connected to the destruction of the Temple, 17 Tammuz* and 9 Av*), be transformed into joy and gladness (note 8: The Rebbe* notes, at the bottom of the page: "One will also consult the Reshimos* of the Tzemach Tzedek* on Eichah*, in the Or HaTorah* Nach*, volume 2, page 1036, the note on the verse of Eichah* and the end of paragraph 3"). With my respects and my blessing to all those who participate in this activity, both those who act themselves and those who cause others to act, may Hashem grant them long days and good years,

נעם לי להודע מההתעוררות להוספה בפעולות לטובת כולל חב"ד רמבעה"ן, מיסודו של כ"ק אדמו"ר הזקן ובהנהלתו ואחריו כ"ק רבותינו נשיאינו ועד לנשיא דורנו כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר - זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע,

אשר אם בזמנם אז חיבה יתירה נודעת מהם לפעולות לטובת הכולל חב"ד,

עאכו"כ בדורנו ובזמננו עקבות משיחא ממש,

וכיון אשר הגאולה תלוי' במעשינו ועבודתינו, מובן אשר בתקופה זו ביחוד הזמן גרמא לענינים השייכים לארצנו הקדושה, פעולות אשר על ידן יתוסף בארץ חיים זו בלימוד תורתנו תורת חיים ובקיום מצותי' עליהן נאמרו וחי בהם,

והרי זוהי מטרת ותכלית כולל חב"ד, כמבואר במכתבי רבותינו נשיאינו בזה בארוכה.

ויהי רצון אשר פעולות האמורות, ביחד עם הפצת מעינות דברי אלקים חיים חוצה, תמהרנה הגאולה האמיתית והשלימה על ידי משיח צדקנו במהרה בימינו ממש.

ויהפכו ימים אלו - דבין המצרים - לששון ולשמחה.

בכבוד ובברכה לכל המשתתפים בהנ"ל - העושים והמעשים גם יחד - שליט"א.
