By the grace of Hashem,
8 Kislev 5711,
Blessings and greetings,
I am writing to you to repeat what I have already told you several times. Your discouragement is unnecessary, and you are losing your money in vain. You do not have peace of mind, are nervous over fears that are without foundation.
May Hashem grant that you use this turn of mind [1] to redouble your ardor in the study of Torah, not only its revealed part but also Chassidut*. It is said that "one nation strengthens itself against the other" [2]. When you show constancy in the study of Torah, you will diminish your discouragement.
May Hashem send you a speedy refuah*, and in particular may He free you from this bitterness.
I would like to know what your fixed studies of the revealed part of Torah and of Chassidut are. You will no doubt communicate to me good news in this matter.

שלום וברכה!
...עוה"פ הנני לכתוב לו מה שכבר אמרתי לו כמה פעמים, אשר לחינם מרבה הוא במרה שחורה ומבזבז מעותיו, מנוחת נפשו וכפשוטו די נערוון שלו, על חששות שאין להן יסוד. ויהי רצון שבקרוב ממש ישקיע את תכונת נפשו זו בהתמדה בלימוד ולא רק בתורת הנגלה אלא גם בתורת החסידות ולאום מלאום יאמץ. בשיעבודו בהתמדה בתורה תתמעט המרה שחורה בעניניו. והשי"ת ישלח לו רפואה בקרוב, וגם המרה שחורה בכלל זה.
אתענין לדעת על דבר הקביעות עתים שיש לו בתורת הנגלה והחסידות, ובטח יודיע בשורות טובות גם בזה.
