Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 13 Mar-Cheshvan. You will find enclosed a receipt for five hundred shekels for the account of our mutual aid fund. I am also enclosing a note on the details of the payment, which was made in accordance with your instructions.

May Hashem grant that you settle in the best way, materially and spiritually. May Hashem fulfill the wishes of your heart, in your public activities as in your personal needs.

You have surely perceived the quality of this country, in which all are disposed to adopt good conduct, provided that one makes the appropriate effort, thanks to the integrity of our brothers, the children of Israel, residing here. Upon those who have influence falls the duty and the merit to make full use of it to draw the Jews and Jewesses they encounter closer to Torah and mitzvot, more than all those who are in other countries.

How much more is this so in the present era, when the Holy One blessed be He has preserved us, in His immense mercy, among the survivors of our people.

בטח הכיר כבר מעלת מדינה זו אשר יש בה חומר מוכשר לקבל צורה טובה ע"י השתדלות הראוי' הודות לתמימותם של אחב"י תושבי המדינה. וחוב וזכות קדוש על כל בעלי השפעה להשתמש בכוחם זה לקרב בני ובנות ישראל שבסביבתם לתורה ולמצוה ביתר שאת על התחייבות כל אחד מאתנו במדינות אחרות. ובפרט בזמננו אלה אשר השאיר אותנו הקב"ה ברחמיו הגדולים בתוך שארית הפליטה.
