To the distinguished Chassid*, who fears Hashem,
Rav Moshe Brachfeld,

Greetings and blessings,

I was pleased to have news of you through our friend, the great Rav, distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem and is a man of zeal, of many accomplishments, Rav Yosef HaLevi Weinberg. I would like to know the details of the actions you have undertaken among those around you.

You know [1] how Chassidut* interprets the verse "go for yourself." Each Jew, a descendant of our father Avraham, must indeed follow his way. He moved about constantly, and in every place where he arrived, "he called upon the Name of Hashem." Our Sages explain, in tractate Sotah 10: "Do not read 'he called,' but 'he caused others to call,'" for he brought the existence of Hashem to the knowledge of all. To be sure, such a mission is difficult to carry out for one who is a nomad, but each receives all the forces necessary to accomplish the mission entrusted to his neshamah*.

My father-in-law the Rebbe emphasized the great responsibility that falls upon the former students of the Yeshiva, on those who received their chinuch* there. They in particular must distribute generously spiritual tzedakah* to those of their surroundings and of their community who are poor in the level of their knowledge — to occupy themselves with the merit of all by establishing public classes, by influencing their participants to put into practice Torah and mitzvot.

These are wide vessels enabling one to receive blessings to obtain all material and spiritual good.

I hope to receive good news of what you will have accomplished in this domain. You will redouble your ardor and you will rise from one stage to the next, fixing a time for your own study and for that which is public. Thank you for informing me about this.

I wish you great success, material abundance and moral success.

ידוע פירוש דא"ח על הפ' לך לך, כי כל איש מישראל, בני אברהם אבינו ע"ה צריך לאחוז בדרכו של אאע"ה, שהי' נודד ממקום למקום ובכל מקום בואו - ויקרא בשם ה', אל תקרי ויקרא אלא ויקריא (סוטה יו"ד) שהי' מפרסם אלקותו ית'. והגם שעבודה זו קשה היא לעובר דרכים, אבל לכל אחד ניתנו הכוחות להוציא תפקידו ושליחות נפשו לפועל.

כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ הדגיש האחריות הגדולה המוטלת על תלמידי וחניכי הישיבות ביחוד לתת צדקה רוחנית ברוח נדיבה להעניים בדעת אשר בסביבתם וקהלתם, לזכות את הרבים בשיעורי לימוד ברבים ולהשפיע עליהם לקרבם לתורה ולמצוות. אשר כל זה הם כלים רחבים לקבלת ברכות כל טוב בגשמיות וברוחניות.

והנני מקוה לשמוע בשורות טובות ממנו בעבודתו בזה, ובטח יוסיף אומץ וילך מחיל אל חיל הן בקביעות עתים שלו לעצמו והן בשיעוריו ברבים, ות"ח על הודעתו מזה.

והנני לברכו בהצלחה מרובה בפרנסה מתוך הרחבה ובעבודתו הרוחנית, ומחכה לבשו"ט.
