To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Chaim (note 1: Rav H. Serebranski, of Melbourne, Australia. See, regarding him, letter no. 4949),

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I duly received your letter of Pesach Sheni* (note 2: The 14th of Iyar*), whose delivery was furthermore delayed. At a propitious moment, your name will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that you may receive a blessing of success on the occasion of your birthday.

I took note with pleasure, at the conclusion of your letter, of the advancement of the buildings (note 3: Of the Yeshivah* of Melbourne). May Hashem grant that this progress be true, that is, that it be constantly increased. Indeed, one can say of Chassidim* what our Sages* report concerning a deer. When the latter increases its flesh internally, its skin expands externally. In this case, it will indeed be so regarding the funds necessary for the development of this institution.

We are in the period preceding the Shabbos* that blesses the third month (note 4: That of Sivan*) and this moment is therefore propitious to conclude with a blessing, in the words of the master, my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner. With my blessing to give good tidings,

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מפסח שני וגם מכתב זה נתארך בהליכתו.

ובעת רצון יזכירוהו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע לברכת הצלחה בקשר ליום הולדתו.

נעם לי לקרות בסיום מכתבו ע"ד ההתקדמות בהנוגע להבנינים ויהי רצון שתהי' התקדמות אמיתית ז.א. באופן דמוסיף והולך כהנה וכהנה, והרי בעניני אנ"ש הוא ע"ד המבואר בחז"ל בהנוגע לצבי שכשמתרבה הבשר (פנימיות) מתרבה בד"מ העור (חיצוניות) שבנדון דידן הרי זה ענין הכספים הנדרשים והרחבת המוסד.

ובעמדנו לפני שבת מברכין ירחא תליתאי הרי זה הזמן לחתימה בברכה בלשון הרב הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
