May your state of health therefore improve and may the medical treatment you have accepted succeed. In any event, the doctor you consulted has surely explained to you that a strong trust in Hashem, Who "heals all flesh and performs wonders," strengthens peace of mind and reduces worry. Without doubt, this will improve your state of health and the success of your treatment.
In general, our Sages* say that "the brain directs the heart." How much more is this the case after one has meditated on the words of our Torah*, Torah* of life, according to which: "Hashem is with me, I shall not fear. Hashem is my Shepherd, I shall lack nothing" — especially according to the definition that Chassidus* gives of Divine Providence*. In general, one must conform to the opinion of a specialist doctor,

...להטבת מצב בריאותו ולהצלחת טפול הרפואי עליו מסכים. ובכל אופן - ודאי הסבירו הרופא שהתייעץ אתו, שחוזק הבטחון בהשי"ת הרופא כל בשר ומפליא לעשות זהו מרבה במנוחת הנפש וממעט בדאגה ובודאי שישפיע להטבת הבריאות ולתוספת הצלחה בהטפול הרפואי. ואם בכלל הודיעונו חז"ל דהמוח שליט על הלב בטבעו, עאכו"כ לאחרי ההתבוננות בדברי תורתנו תורת חיים, ה' לי לא אירא, ה' רועי לא אחסר, ובפרט ע"פ המבואר בתורת החסידות בענין דהשגחה פרטית.
