By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I learned with pleasure that you are reaching the age of the practice of Mitzvos* (note 1: The Bar Mitzvah*). On this occasion, I send you my warm wishes that you accept the yoke of the Torah* and its Mitzvos* with joy and enthusiasm. Admittedly, what is involved here is submission (note 2: Since one must receive the yoke), in the image of the total submission that was attained by our entire people, the children of Israel, in accepting the Torah* and the Mitzvos* on Mount Sinai, after having proclaimed: "We will do and (then) we will understand." Nevertheless, such submission can also be pleasant, for "there is no good but Torah*" and its Mitzvos*, as it is said: "For I have given you a good acquisition; do not abandon My Torah*." For it is indeed the study of Torah* that leads to action, to the daily practice of Mitzvos*.

In conformity with the terms of the verse: "You shall walk in My Decrees and you shall guard My Mitzvos*... I will give..." all the blessings stated in this Parshah*, may Hashem grant that you adopt such conduct, to the full extent of what is necessary. Thus, Hashem will fulfill His Promise and you will be blessed in all your needs, both materially and spiritually. With my blessing of success in your study of Torah* and your practice of Mitzvos*,

בנועם קבלתי הידיעה על דבר כניסתם לעול מצות.

והנני שולח לכם ברכותי הלבביות שתקבלו עליכם עול התורה ועול מצותי' בשמחה ובטוב לבב. שאף על פי שהוא ענין של קבלת עול, וקבלת עול שלימה כמו שהי' בעת הגיע כללות עמנו בני ישראל לעול תורה ומצות במעמד הר סיני, שעה שהקדימו נעשה לנשמע, אבל יחד עם זה עול נעים הוא, כי אין טוב אלא תורה ומצותי', כמו שנאמר כי לקח טוב נתתי לכם תורתי אל תעזובו, ולמוד התורה הרי מביא לידי מעשה קיום המצות בחיי יום יום.

ומתאים למה שנאמר בחוקותי תלכו ואת מצותי תשמרו גו' ונתתי כו' ככל הברכות המנויות בפרשה, יהי רצון שתתנהגו בהתאם להאמור ככל הדרוש וימלא השי"ת הבטחתו שנתברכו בכל המצטרך בגשם וברוח גם יחד.
