Igrot Kodesh · Letter 754 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem,
24 Elul 5710,

To the Rabbi, Chassid who fears Hashem,
Rabbi C. D. [1],

I greet and bless you,

I reply to your letter of 22 Elul, in which you announce to me the birth of your daughter, in a good hour. I therefore express to you my blessing of Mazal Tov, Mazal Tov. You will educate her, with your wife, to Torah, to the wedding canopy and to good deeds.

I will read the request for a blessing that was enclosed with your letter at the gravesite of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, at an auspicious moment.

I am surprised that you have not told me whether you participate in the division of the Talmud [2]. As you know, each one must study at least one Talmudic tractate per year, as the fascicle no. 28 says, in its conclusion [3].

You will surely continue to write your memoirs, although you did not do so in your last letter.

With my blessing in order to be inscribed and sealed for a good year, together with all the members of your family,

You will find enclosed the fascicle published on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah* and the letters addressed to all [4]. It would be good to disseminate them in the best possible way.

הפ"נ שמסגיר במכתבו אקראם על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ בעת רצון.

לפלא שאינו מזכיר אם משתתף הנהו בחלוקת הש"ס, וכידוע שלכל הפחות צריך כל אחד ללמוד מסכת גמרא בשנה (ראה לקוט כ"ח בסופו).

בטח ימשיך ברשימת זכרונותיו אף שבמכתב זה לא נמצא.
