To the graduates of the fourth class, to the students of the carpentry school of Kfar Chabad*, founded and directed by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 16 Cheshvan*, in which you inform me of the intensification of study hours on the eve of Shabbos*, which is detrimental to the preparation of this day that is holy to Hashem. You will therefore present your argument on this matter to the administration of this school. Of course, you may say that you do so at my suggestion. This request for increased study hours comes from the relevant administrations, and you yourselves will therefore surely formulate a counter-proposal on how to satisfy this request without compromising these preparations.

I hope that your study and your conduct, in general, are suited in every respect to what is expected of a Jew who is a descendant of Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov. Moreover, you pursue your studies in a school of Kfar Chabad* which, as I said, was founded and is directed by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel. With my blessing of success and to give good tidings of all this,

במענה למכתבם מט"ז לחדש חשון, בו כותבים אודות הוספה בשעות הלימוד ביום עש"ק, ואיך שזהו נוגע להכנה ליום השבת אשר קודש הוא לה',

יציעו טענותיהם לפני הנהלת בית ספר האמור ומובן שברשותם לומר, שעושים זה על פי הצעתי, וכיון שהדרישה לשעות נוספות באה ממשרדים המתאימים, בטח יכינו גם הצעות מצדם, איך שימלאו הדרישה וביחד עם זה באופן שלא יגרע בהכנות האמורות.

תקותי אשר לימודם והנהגתם בכלל מתאימים בכל הפרטים לבן ישראל אשר כל אחד מהם נקרא בן אברהם יצחק ויעקב וביחוד אשר לומדים בבית ספר בכפר חב"ד כאמור לעיל מיסודו ובהנהלתו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל.
