By the grace of Hashem,

centennial of the birth of the Rebbe Rashab*,

Brooklyn, New York,

To the assembly of Yeshurun*, those who cherish and revere the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

On this day, the day this letter is written, is celebrated the centennial since the birth of the Rebbe Rashab*, founder, sixty-four years ago, of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch*. Then, sixty years ago, at the beginning of the fourth year of the Yeshivah*, in Lubavitch*, the Rebbe Rashab*, during the Simchas Torah* meal, announced (note 1: See the Likkutei Dibburim, Volume 4, page 1568): "I am convinced — one distinguishes 'certain' from 'convinced' and I think that everyone sees the difference — I am therefore convinced that the students of Tomchei Temimim*, wherever they will find themselves, and they will indeed be at the four corners of the earth, will accomplish the objective of the Holy One, blessed be He, with the greatest self-sacrifice: that of possessing a Dwelling here below. To build this Sanctuary of Hashem in this world, one must spread the divine clarity of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, introduce holiness into daily existence, for oneself and around oneself."

No one has any doubt that the sacred words of the founder of the Yeshivos* Lubavitch* have been fully realized. The students, the Temimim*, have assumed and continue to assume their mission with the greatest self-sacrifice, despite the unfortunate events, the persecutions, the trials that the Jews in general, and the students, the Temimim*, in particular, have undergone during these troubled and disturbed years. In all parts of the world, they have known how to instill vitality, Judaism, education based on sacred values. In every place, they have known how to build the Dwelling of Hashem. In fact, at the present time, when the unstable situation that has been established in the world arouses immense fear due to the considerable means that torn and opposing peoples are capable of mobilizing — at the present time much more than before — it is vital to build this Dwelling of Hashem, of the King Who possesses peace, Who truly directs the world, the Master of peace, by disseminating the Torah* and the Mitzvos* that bring peace, thanks to the students, the Temimim*, for the scholars of the Torah* multiply peace in the world.

All those who take part in the support and development of the center of the Yeshivos* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch*, throughout the year, especially on the occasion of its annual celebration (note 2: In support of these Yeshivos), acquire an immutable merit and create the channels, the vessels conveying the blessings of Hashem, in particular that of true peace, itself the vessel of all blessings, material and spiritual, for oneself and for all the members of one's family.
