I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of this Sunday. The prohibition of mixed prayers and of a microphone (note 1: During Shabbos. See, on this subject, letters no. 6495 and 5793), even if one prepares it on the eve of Shabbos*, is established by various texts. It is even self-evident and I am surprised that you ask me about this.

Although you do not speak of it, I have good hope that you have a fixed time for the study of Chassidus*, in addition to that of the revealed part of the Torah*. The necessity of this is established at various references. May Hashem grant that you continue in this direction and that you intensify your action, in accordance with the Injunction according to which advancement is known in the domain of holiness. Of course, I too have taken note of the various articles that have been published (note 2: Regarding the use of a microphone during Shabbos) that seek a more lenient position regarding this microphone. The reader can verify that their author does not have sufficient knowledge of the structure and functioning of a microphone, or perhaps he lacks Halachic* knowledge, or he has deficiencies in both domains at once (note 3: Electricity and Halachah).

במענה למכתבו מיום הראשון,

איסור התפלה בתערובות והאיסור דמיקרופון (אפילו באם מכינים אותו מעש"ק) מובא בכ"מ, וגם פשוט, ולפלא השאלה בזה.

תקותי חזקה אף שאינו מזכיר עד"ז שיש לו קביעות עתים בלימוד תורת החסידות נוסף על לימודו בנגלה דתורה, וההכרח בזה מבואר בכו"כ מקומות, ויהי רצון שימשיך ויוסיף בזה כהציווי דמעלין בקדש ויעשה זה מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב.

מובן שראיתי גם אני כמה מאמרים שנדפסו ומחפשים איזה קולות בהנוגע למיקרופון כו' - והקוראם רואה שאין לבעל המאמר ידיעה כדבעי במבנה המקרופון ואופן פעולתו, או שאין לו ידיעה בצד ההלכתי, או שחסר ידיעה בשניהם.
