Igrot Kodesh · Letter 7453 — Faith & Bitachon

(13 Tishrei 5721)

I am responding to your letter of the eve of the holy day (note 1: Yom Kippur*). At a propitious moment, your name will once again be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. The instructions (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 7100) of our masters and leaders, their words are immutable, and they said that: "if one thinks that all is well, all will indeed be well." You will therefore be able to give me good tidings concerning the content of your letter and the Mitzvah* that you must accomplish with increased scrupulousness (note 3: The one that brings elevation to all the others) — the dissemination of the Torah* of Hashem, in every place where your influence is exercised. For this, it is necessary to have a body in good health and integrity, which "is among the ways of Hashem" (note 4: In the words of the Rambam*). Awaiting your good tidings and with my blessing for a joyous festival (note 5: Of Sukkos*),

I have just received your second letter, announcing good tidings in this matter. Our Sages* rule, in tractate Bava Basra* 12b, that: "when one does good to someone, it is for long days and good years."

במענה למכתבו מערב יום הקדוש,

בעת רצון יזכירוהו עוד הפעם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, והוראות רבותינו נשיאינו ודבריהם קיימים לעד "טראכט גוט וועט זיין גוט", ויוכל לבשר טוב בתוכן מכתבו כנ"ל, ובמצוה דהוי זהיר בה טפי - להפיץ תורת ה' בכל מקום שידו מגעת והרי לכ"ז זקוקים לגוף בריא ושלם שמדרכי השם הוא.
