Igrot Kodesh · Letter 7445 — Prayer
Volume 19 · Letter 418 · [année 5720]
(Year 5720)
According to what the Rambam* writes (note 1: The question posed was: "How can I convince myself to be joyful?") at the end of the Laws of the Lulav*, it must be so throughout the entire day and, as the Shulchan Aruch*, Orach Chaim*, rules in chapter 231: "In all your ways, know Him." The necessity of adopting such an attitude is explained, in particular, in the Tanya*, beginning from chapter 26.
* * *
This is very, very (Me'od Me'od*) judicious (note 2: The question posed was: "Should one change the rite of prayer to adopt that of the Arizal*?"). And the Likkutei Torah*, in Parshas* Shelach*, explains the meaning of this repetition, Me'od Me'od*.
* * *
On page 38c (note 3: The question posed was: "I studied the Likkutei Torah in Parshas Shelach, but for the time being, I have not understood the meaning of the Rebbe's words and I do not see the connection with the rite of prayer"), it is said that the highest aspect of prayer must reveal itself down to the lowest point, that is, in action, in the act of eating, of drinking, "in all your ways."
