To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Tuvya (note 1: Rav T. Blau, of Jerusalem. See, regarding him, letter no. 6636),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 6 Elul*. I thank you for the reference to the saying of the Baal Shem Tov* that you indicated to me. In general, and especially in this matter, since it concerns a proverb of the Baal Shem Tov*, one endeavors to rely only upon works that are cited by Chassidus* and that have therefore received an endorsement from our masters and leaders. This is particularly the case of the Keser Shem Tov* (note 2: Collection of the sayings of the Baal Shem Tov, established by his disciples), of the books of the Rav of Polnoa (note 3: In particular, the Toldos Yaakov Yosef), and of the Me'or Einayim* (note 4: Of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Chernobyl). You say nothing about your state of health. This is, I hope, a sign that all is well. With my blessing to give good tidings, as well as to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,
