By the grace of Hashem,

10 Elul* 5720,

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I duly received your letter of 7 Elul*, month of mercy. At a propitious moment, your name will once again be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that your engagement be positive, as it is said: "The woman who fears Hashem is worthy of praise."

You ask me, in your letter, why you have not found your intended match until now. Now, who has knowledge of the ways of the Creator of the world, Who directs it? Furthermore, this is not at all astonishing, for "will the one who seeks Hashem find Him?" One should, on the contrary, put into practice the words of the verse: "You shall be wholehearted," to have absolute trust in Divine Providence*, as the teaching of our master, the Baal Shem Tov*, emphasizes — this year marking the bicentennial of his Hilloula*. This strengthens and multiplies the blessings of Hashem. With my blessing to give good tidings, as well as to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מז' אלול חדש הרחמים.

ובעת רצון יזכירוהו עוד הפעם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע לשידוך טוב מתאים למ"ש אשה יראת ה' היא תתהלל.

ולשאלתו במכתבו מדוע לא מצא את בת זוגו ע"ע - הנה אין אתנו יודע עד מה דרכי בורא עולם ומנהיגו, וגם אין פלא כלל וכלל בדבר, כי החקר אלקה תמצא וכו' וכו' ואדרבה ההנהגה כמ"ש תמים תהי' ובבטחון חזק בהשגחה פרטית כמודגש בתורת מורנו הבעל שם טוב (אשר השנה היא שנת המאתים להסתלקות הילולא שלו), מוסיפה ומרבה בברכת השי"ת.
