To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of multiple accomplishments, the Rav Moshe Yehudah (note 1: Rav M. Y. Blau, of Brooklyn) HaCohen,

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I duly received your letter of the eve of Shabbos* Parshas* Shoftim* (note 2: The 3rd of Elul*), in which you explain what you intend to add to the edition of the manuscript book of supplements. It seems to me that we have already discussed this. In any case, it is preferable, in my opinion, to append this book of supplements to the other tractates that are already printed, in order to complete them and to correct the errors of the editions published until now.

You say nothing about your state of health and I hope that all is well for each member of your family. In any case, in accordance with the teaching stated at the beginning of Yoreh De'ah*, chapter 1, paragraph 1, and by the Rema*, based on the Sheiltos*, on Parshas* Behaalosecha*, you will please confirm this to me clearly. With my blessing to give good tidings, as well as to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מעש"ק שופטים...

בהסברות מה לצרף בהו"ל הספר ההשלמה כתב יד.

כמדומה מכבר כבר שוחחנו בזה, ובכל אופן נכונה יותר לדעתי לצרף ספר ההשלמה על שאר המסכתות אף שכבר נדפסו, בכדי שיהי' דבר שלם ובתיקון השיבושים שבהדפסות דעד עתה וכו'.

כיון שאין מזכיר ע"ד עניני בריאות, תקותי שהכל בסדר, לכ"א מאנשי ביתו, שי', ובכ"ז מתאים לההוראה דיו"ד בתחלתו, - סימן א' סעיף א' ברמ"א (מהשאלתות פרשה בהעלותך) יודיע עד"ז בפירוש.
