To the Rav, Chassid* who fears Hashem, ...,

Greetings and blessings,

I reply to your letter of Tuesday of Parshas Shoftim, informing me that you have arrived well, with your family, in Cleveland, what you are doing there, and what has been accomplished from the first days.

I was satisfied to see that you immediately began to bring Jews closer to practice, in general, and to Chassidus* in particular. This will no doubt be the means of obtaining the material and spiritual blessings, to satisfy all your needs and those of the members of your family.

You tell me that you have been designated as the chazzan for the Mussaf prayer of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. May you know success in this matter. May your prayers be answered and may your community be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, material and spiritual.

You will surely find a synagogue that is suitable and that will set aside all competition. Obviously, it will take you some time for this. You will therefore patiently observe the situation of the city, until you can make a precise evaluation. You will then find the best solution.

Obviously, this will not prevent you from earning your living, for in this country, the spiritual guides of the synagogues are occupied during Shabbos and the festivals, but relatively free during the week.

You will find enclosed the booklet edited for 18 Elul with the letter that is attached to it.

במענה על מכתבו מיום ג' שופטים, המודיעה מביאתו שלום לעיר קליוולאנד עם ב"ב שיחיו ומהתעסקותו שם ומהסדרים שם במשך ימים הראשונים,

שמחתי לשמוע אשר תו"מ ניגש מקרב זיין אידן צו אידישקייט בכלל און חסידות בפרט, ובטח יהי' זה כלי להמשכת וקבלת השפעות גשמיות ורוחניות בהמצטרך לו ולב"ב שיחיו.

מה שמודיע שקבלוהו לש"ץ לתפלות המוספים בימים הנוראים הבע"ל, יהי רצון שיצליח בתור שליח ציבור ויתקבלו תפלותיו שיכתבו ויחתמו קהל עדתו לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

בטח ישתדל למצוא בית הכנסת מתאים לפניו בלי ענין של השגת גבול, וכמובן גייט עס ניט אין טעג, איר זאלט זיך ארומקוקן במתינות כדי שידע המצב בעיר על ברור ואז בטח ימצא את המתאים לפניו.

כמובן אין זה מונע מענין של פרנסה כיון שבבתי הכנסיות פה במדינה המנהיגים הרוחניים טרודים בימי השבת ויו"ט ופנויים לפי ערך בימות החול.
