To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rav Nissan (note 1: Rav N. Eber, of Tel Aviv. See, regarding him, letter no. 1611),

I greet you and bless you,

You ask me about the Chassidic* gathering that should be organized on the occasion of the Bar Mitzvah* (note 2: Rav Eber was asking whether it was necessary for the Bar Mitzvah* celebration to take place on the actual day the child turns thirteen). One can deduce from the Zohar Chadash*, Parshas* Bereishis*, page 15d, that it is indeed good for it to take place on the very day of the Bar Mitzvah*, at least in the presence of ten people, constituting a complete assembly. Of course, it is possible to arrange, subsequently, another celebration in the presence of a larger crowd.
