To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, of multiple accomplishments, the Rav Asher (note 1: Rav A. Abramson, of Sydney, Australia. See, regarding him, letter no. 2310),

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I duly received your letter of 8 Tammuz*, in which you briefly describe your sacred activities, the classes you give, and the education based on sacred values that you dispense. Although you do not specify this, I have good hope that you are doing everything in your power to also disseminate the laws that are necessary on a daily basis, in all circles and at all ages. Indeed, one can observe immense deficiencies in this matter — not only for customs, for more stringent opinions, for the best ways of accomplishing the Mitzvah*, but also for the Mitzvah* itself — not only a disposition of our Sages*, but also... (note 2: For dispositions of the Torah*), in the most dreadful manner. Now, if in the era of the Alter Rebbe*, the importance of studying these laws was emphasized, as the introduction to his Shulchan Aruch* specifies, how much more must this be so for us, in this era and in these regions. This is quite evident. And in his location, it is even easier to adopt a different conduct. The image is well known of plowing and planting a virgin land, which does not require the work and effort necessary for pulling up weeds.

We experienced the days of liberation of the 12th and 13th of Tammuz*. Now, the one whose liberation and joy we celebrate gave of himself in such a situation, although, in a natural manner, there was no possible outcome, no chance of knowing success in this combat against so powerful an authority. Despite this, one did, one acted and, ultimately, one observed the finest fruits. At the present hour, one still observes the fruits of his fruits. How much more is this the case when one finds oneself in a land of freedom, in a period that makes all of this a necessity. May Hashem grant that you make full use of all the opportunities, all the forces that have been granted to you. You will act with joy and enthusiasm and this will increase your success in a concrete manner. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מח' תמוז, בו כותב ר"פ מפעולותיו בקדש בשיעורי לימוד ובחינוך על טהרת הקדש.

ותקותי חזקה אף שאינו מזכיר עד"ז, שעושה ככל יכולתו גם בהפצת הלימוד דהלכות הצריכות בכל החוגים ובכל הגילים, שהרי רואים במוחש עד כמה חסרה הידיעה דוקא בהלכות אלו ולא רק בהנוגע למנהג חומרא והידור מצוה, כ"א להמצוה עצמה, ולאו דוקא מצוה דרבנן, כ"א גם וכו', ועד לאופן הכי מבהיל. ואם בזמן רבנו הזקן הרעישו ע"ד לימוד הלכות אלו, וכנראה גם מההקדמה לשו"ע רבנו הזקן, עאכו"כ בתקופתנו זו ובמדינות האלו, וק"ל. והרי באתרי' נקל עוד לפעול בזה. וכידוע המשל שזריעה ונטיעה בקרקע בתולה אין דורשת עבודה ויגיעה לעקור זמורות זרות וכו'.

ובבואנו ז"ע מימי הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, שמסר נפשו בעל הגאולה והשמחה, על כגון דא, אף שבדרך הטבע לא הי' נראה כל מקום להצלחה, במלחמה נגד משטר אדיר כ"כ, ובכל זה עשו פעלו וסו"ס ראו פירות הכי טובים, ועתה רואים גם פרי פירות.

ועאכו"כ כשנמצאים בארץ חירות [...] ובתקופה שהשעה דורשת, בוא ועשה. ויהי רצון שינצל כל האפשריות והכחות שניתנו לו במילואן, ויעשה זה מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב - שגם זה יוסיף בהצלחה בהנוגע לפועל.
