I bless you and greet you,

I am responding to your letter of 27 Sivan*. At a propitious moment, all those you cite will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, in accordance with what you write to me. Just as you transmitted this request to me, may Hashem grant that you give me good tidings thereof.

You also ask me whether it is good for a woman to read Tehillim*. It is indeed judicious that once a day, she pray to Hashem, Creator of the world, Who directs it. What prayer should she choose? You will consult, in this regard, a Rav in your locality, in accordance with your situation and your level of knowledge. Of course, the essential thing is that your daily conduct be in accordance with the teachings of our Torah*, Torah* of life, and with the practice of its Mitzvos*, of which it is said: "One shall live by them." ולשאלתה האם יש ענין לאמירת מזמורי תהלים מפי אשה. -

מהנכון אשר פעם ביום תתפלל להשם יתברך בורא עולם ומנהיגו, ובאיזה תפלה, תתייעץ עם הרב אשר במקומם, מתאים למצבה וידיעותי'.

ומובן וגם פשוט אשר עיקר הוא שתתנהג בחיי היום יומים מתאים להוראת תורתנו תורת חיים וקיום מצותי' עליהם נאמר וחי בהם.
