To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, assumes a sacred mission, is filled with eagerness, the Rav Yisrael (note 1: Rav Y. Has, of Raanana),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter from the conclusion of the Shabbos* during which the month of Sivan* was blessed, the third month (note 2: After that of the Exodus from Egypt, Nissan*). I took note with pleasure of the details concerning your sacred activities in the domain of education based on sacred values. Without a doubt, you will not content yourself with this, for we have been enjoined to ascend in all the domains of our Torah*, its Mitzvos*, and especially education. Every contribution to a child or a young person whom one educates is multiplied many times over when that person grows up. Sometimes, this transforms the entire rest of his existence, as well as that of his home, when he marries and builds a Jewish household. Such responsibility and so great a merit are considerable and, without a doubt, one receives from on high, in such a case, particular and immense forces. This is quite evident. May Hashem grant that you accomplish all of this with joy and enthusiasm, in the manner of the Holy One, blessed be He, Who acts "measure for measure" (note 3: In the manner in which one acts toward Him), but in a largely increased proportion. By putting into practice the Injunction: "And you shall teach them to your children," in the literal sense, as well as by applying its interpretation: "And you shall teach them to your children — this refers to students," you will derive a true satisfaction, a Jewish, traditional, and Chassidic* satisfaction.

The festival of Shavuos* approaches, that of the time of the giving of our Torah*, which marks, this year, the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of our master, the Baal Shem Tov*, occurring this time on the same day of the week (note 4: As his passing), a Wednesday, the first day of Shavuos*. According to the words of the Alter Rebbe*, it is on this day that the luminaries were suspended and removed. I therefore have good hope that you will plan activities in this matter, in every place where your influence extends and, in particular, among your students, by establishing a study of the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov*, which is Chassidus*, and by following his ways, his directives, and his practices. With my blessing, according to the expression of the master, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner,

במענה למכתבו ממוצש"ק מברכין חדש סיון ירחא תליתאי ונעם לי לקרות פרטים בהנוגע לפעולות בקדש חינוך על טהרת הקדש ובודאי שאינו מסתפק בזה, שהרי נצטוינו להעלות בכל עניני-תורתנו ומצותי' ובפרט בשטח החינוך, אשר כל הוספה בילד ונוער המחונך הרי זו נגדלת פי כמה כשיגדל המחונך ולפעמים משנה כל משך ימי חייו כולל חיי ביתו, כשיתחתן ויבנה ביתו בישראל, וכיון שהאחריות והזכות בזה גדולות כל כך, בודאי שמשפיעים מלמעלה כחות מיוחדים ועצומים, וק"ל.

ויהי רצון שיעשה בכל האמור מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב, ובמדתו של הקב"ה שהיא מדה כנגד מדה אלא שכמה פעמים ככה, הרי גם בושננתם לבניך כפשוטו נוסף על ושננתם לבניך אלו התלמידים ירווה רוב נחת אמיתי הוא נחת יהודי מסורתי חסידותי.

תקותי חזקה אשר בקשר לחג השבועות הבע"ל, זמן מתן תורתנו אשר השנה הוא גם הילולא המאתים של מורנו הבעל שם טוב ז"ל, וחל בשנה זו באותו היום, יום רביעי בשבוע, א דחג השבועות, שכדברי רבנו הזקן, בו יום נטלו ונתלו המאורות, יתכנן פעולות בכיוון זה בכל מקום שידו מגעת ובמושפעיו ביחוד, לקבוע לימוד בתורת הבעש"ט שהיא היא תורת החסידות וללכת בדרכי הוראותיו והנהגותיו.

בברכה ובלשון הרב הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
