By the grace of Hashem,

25 Iyar* 5720,

Brooklyn, New York,

To all the participants in the Women's and Girls' Organization of Chabad*, in general, and to those who take part in their fifth annual convention, in particular, whom Hashem will grant long life,

I bless you and greet you,

On the occasion of the annual convention of the Women's and Girls' Organization of Chabad* and through its intermediary, I extend my blessing to each one of you, with a profound prayer for the success of your action in all the points of your program, and especially for the future accomplishments of the present convention. Yesterday, we pronounced the blessing of the month of Sivan*, whose central point is the festival of Shavuos*, the time of the giving of our Torah*. Hashem gave us a complete Torah* and our Sages*, of holy memory, emphasize that "everything that is revealed by the scholars in each generation was already given on Mount Sinai," through the intermediary of Moshe* our master. Of course, this applies to all parts of our holy Torah*, unveiled from one generation to the next — in particular to its inner dimension, its inner light, which was revealed to an elite by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai*, whose Hilloula* is on Lag BaOmer*, and which was subsequently widely disseminated among Jews from the era of the Baal Shem Tov*, whose Hilloula* is on the first day of Shavuos*, the time of the giving of our Torah*.

This year marks the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of the Baal Shem Tov*. This date falls, moreover, on the same day of the week, a Wednesday — the luminous day of Creation on which the luminaries began to shine in the heavens. The Alter Rebbe*, founder of Chabad* Chassidus*, said regarding this day: "The luminaries were suspended" and "the luminaries were removed" — meaning that the holy soul of the Baal Shem Tov* then completed its mission and returned to its Creator. Simultaneously, its radiance began to spread more strongly and more broadly, through the intermediary of his disciples and the disciples of his disciples. Each year, on this date, new dimensions of his luminosity open, emanating from the deepest wellsprings of his divine soul.

The revelation of the Torah* in general, and that of general Chassidus* and Chabad* Chassidus* more specifically, are particularly linked to the Jewish woman, as my father-in-law, the Rebbe, emphasized many times, orally and in writing. He defined the particularly important role that Jewish women receive — in general — and Chabad* women and girls, in particular, within Jewish life: "Everything that is holy and precious to the divine people of Israel, that which is the foundation of the Jewish home, of the education of children, of Kashrus* and the sanctity of the home, of that of Shabbos* — all of this has been transmitted and entrusted to the Jewish woman. Regarding the one who fulfills her mission in the accomplishments of life and in the family context, who directs the home, who educates her children according to the Torah*, the Torah* says: 'The wisdom of women builds the house.' And each one of them can do so."

The Chabad* women and girls receive the specific mission of standing in the front rank of every accomplishment aimed at strengthening Judaism in general and the conduct of the home in particular. Each of you will therefore build her home and help to strengthen the homes of her Jewish neighbors, upon the eternal foundations of the Torah* and Mitzvos*, pervaded by the clarity and warmth of Chassidus*. It is in this way that one can raise up the entire House of Israel and prepare it for the coming of our righteous Moshiach*, in accordance with the well-known letter of the Baal Shem Tov*. When the promise is fulfilled that "your wellsprings will spread outward" — the teachings, customs, and practices of the Baal Shem Tov* — it will be the complete redemption, through our righteous Moshiach*.

* * *

May Hashem bless your action, which you will accomplish with great success in all domains. May He grant happiness to each of you, with the members of her family, including in what concerns you personally, both materially and spiritually. With my blessing for considerable success and for giving good tidings,
