I duly received your letter of the day on which twice the word "good" was said (note 1: During the Creation, on Tuesday). You say nothing to me of your state of health and this is no doubt a sign that all is well, as well as for your wife.

During the period of the Omer*, one makes an addition (note 2: In the counting of the Omer*) each day compared to the previous one. This is why one does not employ ordinal numbers, "second day" (note 3: But rather says: "two days of the Omer*"). The same will therefore apply regarding health and all domains of good. This includes, of course, the dissemination of the wellsprings (note 4: Of Chassidus*) outward. And this year, which marks the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of our master, the Baal Shem Tov*, is propitious for the dissemination of these wellsprings, which are Chassidus*.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מיום שהוכפל בו כי טוב, וכיון שאין מזכיר בהנוגע לבריאות, בודאי סימן הוא אשר בסדר הענין וכן בהנוגע לזוגתו תחי'.

וכיון שענין ימי ספירה הוא שבכל יום מוסיפים על יום הקודם (שלכן לא בא במספר באופן סידורי, יום שני וכו'), הרי גם בעניני בריאות וכל עניני טוב יהי' באופן כזה, ובזה כמובן וגם פשוט בהנוגע להפצת המעינות חוצה, והרי שנת סגולה היא השנה הזאת, שהיא שנת המאתים להסתלקות הילולא של מורנו הבעש"ט ז"ל, להפצת מעינותיו שהיא היא תורת החסידות.
