By the grace of Hashem,
12 Elul 5710,
To the Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rav David [1],
Greetings and blessings,
The Rav, Chassid who fears Hashem, Rav Israel Jacobson [2], has transmitted to me your names and your two checks, one for the Maamad [3] and the other for the Yeshivah. The receipts have been delivered to him.
As you asked, the names that have been transmitted to me will be read, in an opportune moment, at the gravesite of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and undoubtedly he will grant his blessing. I hope that you yourself and the members of your family will be good receptacles to receive the blessings, material and spiritual, of the Rebbe.
One of the means of broadening these receptacles is to adopt the studies that the Rebbe instituted: the Parshah of each day of the weekly Sidrah, with the commentary of Rashi; the Tehillim, after the prayer of Shacharis, as they have been divided among the days of the month; and the Tanya, according to its annual study cycle, divided by the Rebbe [4].
I am certain that you will adopt these studies, and I would be happy if you would let me know.
No doubt you give, from time to time, Tzedakah*, not only in a material way, but also spiritually, by exerting a positive influence on your acquaintances, by bringing them closer to the Torah, the Mitzvos*, and the fear of Hashem.
When one truly desires it, Hashem comes to one's aid, and one finds the right words, the best means of positively influencing others. And in this way one can strengthen oneself, be still more determined. Likewise, the members of the family strengthen themselves in the study of the Torah and the practice of the Mitzvos. Such is the will of our leader, my father-in-law, the Rebbe.
