I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of this Sunday, in which you speak to me of the note you wrote on the evening of Hoshana Rabbah*. Of course, I was subsequently pleased to read your letter, written on the first day of Parshas* Lech Lecha*, "Go forth, for yourself, from your land, from your birthplace, and from the house of your father, to the land that I will show you." You know the teaching and the saying of the Alter Rebbe*, according to which: "One must live with the times," that is, with the Sidra* of the week. Now, you know the commentary that Chassidus* offers on this verse.

May Hashem grant that your decision be followed by action, that you study both the revealed part of the Torah* and Chassidus*, with enthusiasm and ardor, with Chassidic* fervor, and that you practice the mitzvos* in the best way. Hashem will grant you the success of putting into practice also the second explanation of the expression: "that I will show you," according to which one shows and reveals the deep strengths that one possesses. And these have their effect in daily life. You understand what determination and deep strengths are. Various texts define these notions. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,

ומובן שנעם לי לקרות אח"כ מכתבו, הכתוב ביום הראשון לס' לך לך מארצך וממולדתך ומבית אביך אל הארץ אשר אראך.

וידועה הוראת-פתגם רבנו הזקן, מ'דארף לעבן מיט דער צייט, הכוונה מיט דער סדרה פון דער וואך, וידוע פירוש תורת החסידות בפסוק האמור.

ויהי רצון שיקיים החלטתו בפועל, בהתמדה ושקידה ובהתלהבות

חסידותית - בנגלה ובחסידות גם יחד ובהידור בקיום המצות, והשי"ת יצליחו גם כפירוש השני אשר אראך, שמראים ומגלים הכחות הפנימים שישנם בו שיפעלו פעולתם ועד לחיי היום יומים, ועוצם וערך כחות הפנימים הרי מובן ומבואר בכ"מ.
