By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to the question you pose in your letter of 11 Tishrei*, regarding the trip of your wife, may Hashem grant her long life. She wishes, indeed, to visit England and Sweden. I must tell you the truth. I do not see what profound benefit these trips can have, especially with the approach of winter and autumn. Nevertheless, your letter seems to indicate that she wishes them, desires them profoundly. One must therefore add to them some mission of Mitzvah*. Thus, she will visit, on site, the association of Chabad* women or, more generally, organizations of Orthodox women, to whom she will explain the importance of the mitzvos* and of a way of life based on the Torah*. No doubt you will also find the best arrangement for the children.

May Hashem grant that this trip and the return take place at a good and fruitful time, that she use it for the Mitzvah*, in addition to the satisfaction of her own will, with joy and enthusiasm. Without a doubt, you are preparing to enjoy the days of our rejoicing (note 1: The festival of Sukkos*), which are approaching, in the proper manner, in order to disseminate the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*). With my blessing to give good tidings and for a joyous festival,

במענה לשאלתו במכתבו מי"א תשרי בהנוגע לנסיעת זוגתו שתליט"א, ביקור באנגליא וכן בשווידען.

ומוכרחני לאמר האמת, שבכלל איני רואה תוכן פנימי בהנ"ל ובפרט בימי החורף והסתיו המתקרבים, אבל כיון שכנראה ממכתבו ישנו רצון חזק וחשק לנסיעה האמורה, הרי יש לצרפה עם איזו שליחות של מצוה [וכמו שתבקר שם באגודת נשי חב"ד או בחוגי נשים חרדיות בכלל לעוררן בהנוגע למצות ולאורח חיים ע"פ התורה וכו'], ובטח תוכל לסדר הילדים שי' בכי טוב.

ויהי רצון שתהי' הנסיעה וחזרה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ותנצל אותה לענינים של מצוה נוסף על מילוי הרצון מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב.

בודאי מתכוננים לנצל ימי שמחתנו הבע"ל באופן המתאים להפצת המעינות.
