I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 12 Menachem Av*, with what was enclosed. You inform me of your good decisions to intensify all that concerns the Torah*, prayer, and good deeds. It is clear that every addition to the Torah* and the mitzvos* is particularly advisable. Moreover, we have received the injunction that it be so, since our Sages* say that one ascends in the domain of holiness, and: "to whoever adds, it is added." Nevertheless, it is not necessary to systematically assign a new name to every activity one introduces and to establish a new organization for this purpose. The injunction previously cited means only that one must invite those who are attentive to make an addition in this direction, without a new name being given. Insofar as this is not necessary, there is no reason to plan for it, at least initially, for this could create a division among the members and thereby reduce the friendship between them, which must, on the contrary, be strengthened.

Be therefore blessed for the implementation of these good decisions until now, and no doubt you will do the same in the future. But for the present, there is no need for a specific name and organization. The time will come to ask the question once more, later, when the participants are numerous. I send you my blessing to ascend from one level to the next in the three domains previously cited, which represent the totality of the Torah* and the mitzvos*. I also wish you to be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, materially and spiritually. With my blessing to give good tidings,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבם מי"ב מנ"א עם המצורף אליו, בו כותבים אודות ההחלטות הטובות להוסיף בעניני תורה עבודה וגמ"ח וכו'.

ובודאי אשר כל הוספה בעניני תורה ומצות כדאית היא ביותר וביותר, ולא עוד אלא שנצטוינו על זה כהוראת חז"ל מעלין בקדש וכל המוסיף מוסיפין לו.

אבל ביחד עם זה, לא תמיד צריך להגדיר כל הוספה והוספה בשם חדש וארגון חדש, שהרי הציווי האמור מספיק לעורר את מי שלבם ער להוספה כהאמור וכגון דא, ואין צורך דוקא בשם חדש וכו', וכיון שאין צורך בזה הרי עכ"פ בתקופה הראשונה אין לעשות זה, כיון שזה יכול להביא להבדלה מבין החברים, ובמילא להקטנת הענין דאהבת ריעים, דברים שאדרבה יש להשתדל בהם כו"כ.

ולכן אף שתבוא עליהם ברכה על קיום החלטות האמורות עד עתה ובטח יקיימו גם בעתיד, אבל לע"ע כנ"ל אין צורך בארגון מיוחד ושם מיוחד, ועוד חזון למועד, כשיעבור זמן מסוים ויתרבה מספר המשתתפים, לדון בהאמור עוד הפעם.

בברכה ללכת מחיל אל חיל בכל שלשת העמודים הנ"ל שהם כללות כל התורה והמצוה, ולהכתב ולהחתם לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.
