may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

Given the various activities of Beis Lubavitch*, which will surely be strengthened and expanded, with the help of Hashem, while others will emerge, it seems to me that this institution should have an executive director who will devote himself specifically to it, with the self-sacrifice necessary for his efforts to be crowned with success. Now, these days, a young Chassid* who fears Hashem, who has good conduct and has accumulated multiple accomplishments, Nachman Sudak, is traveling to London. He has held similar positions and has achieved good results. Based on what I discussed with him, it would be good, for various reasons, for him to use his abilities and experience to strengthen and expand Jewish values, to spread the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*), in particular in London and its surrounding area.

In my opinion, the development committee of Beis Lubavitch* should consider his candidacy for the important position mentioned above. Not knowing precisely what the most suitable means are among those that Beis Lubavitch* possesses, and not wishing to increase the budget of this institution, at least initially, I think that in addition to his activity within Beis Lubavitch*, the possibility of his giving a class in general or teaching a group should be placed on the agenda. I also hope that, when the situation improves in the appropriate manner, his wife, Mrs. Pradel, will be able to direct the educational activities of Beis Lubavitch*, especially as she possesses great experience in this matter, which, according to the information I have, has been fruitful.

We are on the day after the 15th of Av* and, in the expression of our Sages*, "there was no festival for Yisrael like the 15th of Av*," in the time of the Beis HaMikdash*. Now, in their moral dimension, the provisions of the Torah* and the mitzvos* (note 3: That were practiced in the Beis HaMikdash*) still apply at the present time, in the way they were revealed in the Beis HaMikdash*. I therefore send you my blessing that the same be true for the activities of Beis Lubavitch*. The purpose of this house is, indeed, to spread: "the lamp (which) is a mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," so that this festival (note 4: The 15th of Av*) be joyous, for joy breaks all boundaries, and the light will thus be ever greater. With my respects, my blessing of success both in your communal accomplishments and in your personal achievements, as well as to give good tidings of all this,
