Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6941 — Tzedakah

(17 Tammuz* 5719)

I have duly received your letter of 15 Tammuz*, with what was enclosed. You will understand how astonished and surprised I am to observe that you do not say a word about the content of the Chassidic* farbrengen* that took place on the occasion of the festival of the liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*. If the general director of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of the entire country does not see fit to mention what took place, what will those who hold a position inferior to yours do? This is self-evident.

This is surprising, for thirty-two years after the miracles and the deliverance, it is necessary to recall what took place, even if one can find an explanation and a pretext by telling oneself that it serves no purpose to give an account of it, provided that it is done. Now, one can concretely observe, as I have written to several Chassidim*, that the necessity of giving an account to someone of what has been done adds enthusiasm to the action. This is self-evident. May Hashem grant that you give me good tidings, of a visible and tangible good, and this period will soon be transformed into joy and gladness. Then will be fulfilled the promise according to which we will have "an inheritance without limit."

מאשרים קבלת מכתבו מט"ו תמוז עם המצורף אליו ומובנת התמי' והפלא הכי גדול אשר אין מזכיר אף מלה (לתוכן) התועדות של חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, ואם המנהל הראשי דישיבת תומכי תמימים דכל מדינת... אינו מוצא לנכון להזכיר עד"ז מה יעשו אלה שלמטה ממנו במעמד ומצב, וק"ל.

ולפלא שלאחרי מלאת ל"ב שנה להנסים והגאולה יש לעורר על כגון דא, אף שלכאורה מקום לתירוץ ואמתלא שמאי נפק"מ בהודעה, ובלבד שיהי' הבכן. אבל רואים במוחש, וכמו שכתבתי לכמה מאנ"ש, שהידיעה שצריך להודיע למי בהנוגע לפעולות, מוסיפים במרץ בקיום הפעולות, וק"ל.

ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בטוב הנראה והנגלה, ובין המצרים אלו נזכה בעגלא דידן שיהפכו לששון ולשמחה ויקוים היעוד דנחלה בלי מצרים.
