to communal needs, Rav* Michoel (note 1: Rav* M. Lipsker, of Meknes, Morocco. See, concerning him, letter no. 5578),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your question regarding the changes within the Beis Rivka*, through the change in the age of the students (note 2: By opening this school to older students, while the younger ones would go to another school). It is quite evident that the plan to form classes of a more advanced age is very judicious, for various reasons. But it is equally clear that there is no reason to make a "commercial exchange" of this — that is, to send the current students of Beis Rivka* to another school. Indeed, Beis Rivka* also has the responsibility of providing an education based on sacred values to the younger ones. There is therefore absolutely no reason to exchange one group for another. One must, on the contrary, broaden and multiply the older classes, then seek the financial means to cover the additional expenses. But of course, one must not send students away from the school, regardless of their age. This is self-evident. With my blessing for success and to give good tidings,

I thank you in particular for having sent me the list of students (note 3: Of the Lubavitch schools in Morocco) who devote themselves to education and, more generally, for what you write to me about the success of the work being carried out. I have good hope that there is more, much more than this, justifying that one rejoice in the fruit of your effort and that of the other Chassidim* in Morocco. Without a doubt, each one will find in this strength and vigor, not only to continue this holy mission, but also to broaden it considerably. The merit of the public assists you, and our masters invoke divine mercy that you know success in all this, in good health, in joy and enthusiasm, for blessing and success, including in what concerns you personally.

במענה לשאלתו במ"ש אודות השינוים בבית רבקה, להחליף גיל התלמידים וכו'.

הנה מובן וגם פשוט, שהסברא שתהיינה כתות מגיל מבוגר יותר, טובה היא במאד מאד, ומכמה טעמים, אבל ביחד עם זה ג"כ מובן ופשוט, שאין מקום לעשות מין מסחר בכזה, ז.א. שישלחו תלמידות בית רבקה למוסד חינוך אחר, שהרי האחריות הוא על מוסד ב"ר שיתחנכו גם הקטנות דוקא בחינוך על טהרת הקדש, ואין כאן מקום לחילוף זו בזו, כי אם להגדיל ולהוסיף כתות מבוגרות, וביחד עם זה לחפש אמצעים להוצאה הנוספת עי"ז, אבל פשוט שלא לשלוח תלמידות מהמוסד מאיזה גיל שתהיינה, וק"ל.
