Igrot Kodesh · Letter 675 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem,
16 Menachem Av 5710,

To the Rabbi, distinguished Chassid*, who fears Hashem,
Rav A. [1],

Greetings and blessings,

I have received your telegram, informing me that the surgical operation will take place on Sunday. I read a request for blessing in the office of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, where he receives and grants his blessings. I will also mention your name when I am at the gravesite. Thus, all will go well and she will recover speedily.

I have already written to someone [2] that I am surprised by the severe manner in which Chassidim* interpret what happens to themselves or to members of their family. On various occasions, my father-in-law said, citing the masters of Chabad* [3]: "If one says to oneself that all is good, all will indeed be good."

If I may, I would ask that I be informed afterwards that this was indeed the case, that all went well, and that her condition is satisfactory.

נתקבלה הטלגרמה שלו שהניתוח יהי' ביום ראשון וקראתי פ"נ בהיכל כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, ששם נכנסים ליחידות ולנתינת פ"נ. כן אזכירה בהיותי על הציון, ובודאי יהי' הכל כשורה ותחזור לאיתנה.

וכבר כתבתי לא' אשר תמיהני על אנ"ש שי' שמחמירים בפירוש הקורות אותם או את אחד מב"ב שי' וכמה פעמים אמר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ בשם נשיאי חב"ד: "טראכט גוט וועט זיין גוט" און געוויס וועט זיין גוט.

ואי איישר חילי, אפעול ג"כ שיודיעו אח"ז, אשר אמת הי' גוט והוטב המצב.
