By the grace of Hashem,

13 Menachem Av 5710,

To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, ...

I greet you and bless you.

I reply to your letter of 11 Menachem Av. You indicate to me the shidduch being proposed for your daughter, and I think it is a good proposal.

You say that Hashem will perhaps help you find a young man, a Torah scholar, who will have better conduct — but you know the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, according to which "the worst of ours is preferable to the best of theirs." And how much more is "the best of ours" preferable to "the best of theirs."

May Hashem grant that these two good families be united in a good and fruitful moment, with a wide receptacle containing all that is good.

You no doubt have a fixed time for the study of the teaching of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in addition to your other classes.

במענה על מכתבו מי"א מנחם אב, שמציעים לבתו מרת... תי' שידוך עם הרה"ח וכו'... לפי דעתי נכון הדבר.

ומה שכותב שאפשר יזמין השי"ת בחור בן תורה ומדות טובות ביותר, הנה ידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ אונזערע זיבורית איז בעסער ווי זייערע עידית", ועל אחת כמה וכמה שעדית שלנו טובה מעידית שבעידית שלהם.

ויהי רצון שהתקשרות ענבי הגפן בענבי הגפן תהי' בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ובכלי רחבה לקבלת כל טוב.

בטח יש לו קביעת עתים ללימוד תורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ נוסף על שאר שיעוריו.
