By the grace of Hashem,

13 Menachem Av 5710,

To the Rav, Chassid* who fears Hashem, ...

I greet you and bless you.

I reply to your letter of 7 Menachem Av, in which you tell me that your birthday is 12 Menachem Av. You turned twenty-five,[1] for good days and good years. I would like, on this occasion, to express my blessings to you.

May Hashem grant that all the blessings, material and spiritual, that my father-in-law, the Rebbe, granted you, may be fully accomplished in you.

The verse Beha'aloscha 8:24 indicates that from twenty-five years on, one can be enrolled in the army. The maamar of 13 Shevat,[2] at the end of the paragraph introduced by "They shall make Me a Sanctuary," explains what an army is. You will also consult the Kessef Mishneh on Hilchos Klei HaMikdash, chapter 3, paragraph 7.

You will no doubt make every effort necessary to find a good shidduch. And our Sages emphasize that "it is normally the man who searches."

You have surely fixed a time to study the teaching of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in addition to the classes you have elsewhere. You will please tell me what is the case.

במענה על מכתבו מיום ז' מנחם אב המודיע אשר ביום י"ב מנחם אב הוא יום הולדתו שנתמלאו לו כ"ה שנה לאורך ימים ושנים טובות, הנני בזה להביע ברכותי אשר יהי רצון שיקויימו בו הברכות אשר מברך אותו כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ על מילואן בגשמיות וברוחניות.

ומבן חמש ועשרים שנה ומעלה יבוא לצבא צבא (בהעלותך ח, כד) ובפירוש ענין הצבא במאמר י"ג שבט סו"ס המתחיל ועשו לי מקדש. ולהעיר מכסף משנה להל' כלי המקדש פ"ג ה"ז. -

בטח מתעסק באופן המתאים בענין שידוך הראוי, ומאמר רז"ל דרכו של איש לחזור כו'.

בודאי יש לו קביעות עתים ללימוד תורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ נוסף על שאר השיעורים שלו. ויודיע עד"ז.
