To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Ephraim Eliezer (note 1: Rav E. E. Yalles, of Philadelphia. See, on his subject, Letter no. 6582) HaCohen,

Greetings and blessings,

I have received your letter of the third day, when the word "good" was said twice (note 2: During the creation — Tuesday). Finding myself today (note 3: Eve of the advanced Rosh Chodesh* and "minor Yom Kippur*") at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, I have mentioned your name, as well as all those you cite, in accordance with what you say in your letter.

It is emphasized that the entire month of Adar* was transformed (note 4: As it is said in the Megillah*: "The month that was transformed for them from anguish to joy and from mourning to celebration"). May Hashem* therefore grant that it be so in all that you cite, within all of Israel. According to various opinions and in various domains, the first Adar* is the true one (note 5: When there are two). Or else the two Adars* are considered as one. Furthermore, the decision and conclusion of the Orach Chaim* is: "One who has a good heart feasts joyfully at all times." With my blessing to convey good news,

והרי לכמה דיעות ובכמה ענינים אדר הראשון הוא אדר או דכחדש אחד הם.
