By the grace of Hashem,

11 Menachem Av 5710,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav I. A. L. Halevi,[1]

I greet you and bless you.

I reply to your letter of 5 Menachem Av.

I reiterate in writing the blessings I gave orally — when he was here — to your son, my relative, who is to marry your daughter. The wedding will be celebrated, down to the smallest detail, in a good and fruitful moment. The couple will build a Jewish home, an everlasting edifice, based on Torah, Mitzvos*, and Chassidus*, in material and spiritual affluence.

Our Sages say, in tractate Megillah 16a, that "when this nation knows elevation, it can grow until it reaches the stars." This elevation began with the engagement and the fixing of a date for the wedding of your daughter. May Hashem grant that it be fruitful also in the other domains.

For this, you must strengthen yourself in your bitachon* and in your emunah*, being convinced that the blessings my father-in-law, the Rebbe, granted you many times will be fully realized, in the most literal and material sense.

It would be good to read each day, without making it a vow, the Tehillim of the Rebbe, which is currently chapter 71.[2] A few times a week, you will study, in addition, the teaching of my father-in-law, the Rebbe. You will do all this at least until 10 Shevat 5711, and it will be the receptacle to reveal the blessings of the tzaddik, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in this world, the world of action.

במענה על מכתבו מה' מנחם

אכפול בכתב ברכותי מה שאמרתי לבנו שי' וש"ב המיול"ח בתו שתי' בהיותם אצלי אשר תהי' קביעת זמן החתונה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת בכל הפרטים, ויבנו בית בישראל בנין עדי עד על יסודי התורה המצוה והחסידות, מתוך הרחבה בגו"ר.

ידוע מרז"ל (מגילה טז, א) אומה זו כו' כשהן עולין עולין עד לכוכבים. ויהי רצון, אשר משהתחילו בעלי' קשורי התנאים וקביעות זמן חתונת בתו תי' עלה יעלה בהצלחה גם בשאר עניניו אלא שצריך להיות חזק בבטחונו ובאמונתו, אשר בודאי יקויימו ברכות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ אשר ברכו כמה פעמים, ויקויימו על מילואן און גאר כפשוטו בגשמיות ממש.

ומהנכון אשר בכל יום יאמר בל"נ דעם רבינס קאפיטל תהלים, שהוא עתה קאפ' עא, ואיזה פעמים בשבוע ילמד תורת הדא"ח של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ. כל זה לכל הפחות עד יו"ד שבט ה'תשי"א הבע"ל, אשר זהו כלי רחב להמשכת ברכות צדיק הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, בעוה"ז עולם המעשה.
