Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter of this Friday. You pose the following well-known question. The Alter Rebbe*, in his Shaar HaYichud VeHaEmunah*, cites in the name of the Baal Shem Tov* an interpretation of the verse: "Forever, Hashem*, Your Word stands in the heavens." Now, this interpretation also appears in the Midrash Tehillim* (note 2: An earlier work that should therefore have been cited), and you also ask me about Tractate Kesubos* 22b (note 3: Cited by the Rebbe* when he edited a text of the Previous Rebbe* commenting on this subject).
You will consult the Kuntres* 18 Elul* 5703 (note 4: 1943, by the Previous Rebbe*), at page 14, and you will find there a talk of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, treating this subject. I did in fact cite, in a footnote appearing at the bottom of the page, Tractate Kesubos*, as well as Tractate Avos*, chapter 4, Mishnah* 19, Midrash* Vayikra Rabbah*, chapter 16, paragraph 2. Moreover, the Likkutei Torah*, at the beginning of Parshas* Acharei*, also makes this citation without attributing it to the Baal Shem Tov*, and it says there, immediately after that: "This is what the Midrash Tehillim* says."

יעוין בזה קונטרס ח"י אלול תש"ג עמוד י"ד, אשר שם נדפסה שיחת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בזה, וציינתי בהערה בשולי הגליון, למסכת כתובות הנ"ל, אבות פ"ד משנה י"ט, ויקרא רבה פרשה ט"ז ב'. דא"ג בלקו"ת (ר"פ אחרי) מובא הנ"ל (סתם, ולא בשם הבעש"ט) ומצוין תומ"י לאחרי זה, וכן איתא במדרש תהלים.
כיון שאינו מזכיר בעניני בריאות שלו ושל ב"ב שי', בודאי זהו סימן שהנ"ל בסדר.
