Greetings and blessings,

It would be good to study the possibility of publishing, on a weekly basis, an article reporting on the events of the week, in one of the periodicals published in Frisco (note 2: San Francisco) and read by our brethren, the children of Israel. Of course, this must not have the effect of permitting what is forbidden by the Shulchan Aruch*. This newspaper must therefore not be heretical or printed during Shabbos*. But there is surely a means of averting all these risks. The importance of what is at stake requires no further explanation.

I also enclose a copy of my letter addressed to the dinner of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* (note 3: This is Letter no. 6669). Of course, you will retain from it only the idea for your mission, which is a sacred mission. With my blessing for success and to convey good news,

... מהנכון הי' להתוודע ע"ד האפשרית להדפיס בכל שבוע מאמר בעניני השבוע, באחד ממכ"ע הנדפסים בפריסקא, ונקראים ע"י אחב"י. מובן שבאם אין בזה ענין נתינת הכשר להאסור ע"פ שו"ע, ז.א. באם אין העתון של כפירה או שנדפס בשבת, אבל בטח יש לסדר בשלילת חששות האלו, וחשיבות הדבר בודאי שאין צריך ביאור נוסף.
