To Mr. Mordechai (note 1: Mr. Katz, of Raanana),

Greetings and blessings,

I have received, with pleasure, the letter that was written to me on your behalf by the distinguished Chassid* of many accomplishments and good conduct, full of zeal, Mr. A. Bin Noun (note 2: Rav Alexander Zissel Bunin Bin Noun, of Raanana. See, on his subject, Letters no. 6605, 6668, and 6693). It specifies that you have the kindness to donate a piece of land to Chabad*, in order to build vocational schools and housing for the workers and students there. Your good will demonstrates that it is unnecessary to describe to you at length the importance of giving a good education to the younger generation in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, an education in the spirit of Chabad*, based on the teaching of Chassidus* and on the principle according to which the love of Hashem*, the love of the Torah*, and the love of the people of Israel form one single entity. No doubt you will give me further details about this land and the suitability of the place where it is situated, with a view to the construction of a specific vocational school, or whether this has no bearing. I mean that several categories of vocational schools additionally need another piece of land near their building in order to function in the best way. You will also give me the other details that are important for such an accomplishment (note 3: See, on this subject, Letter no. 6668). The third paragraph of your letter, in particular, emphasizes that you are ready to give a part of this land right away in order to build these institutions there (note 4: The rest being a bequest). It is therefore all the more necessary to have this information. In this matter, every additional detail is of great importance.

May Hashem* therefore grant that the merit of this immense accomplishment protect you in all your needs, in general, and especially that you have long days and good years, which will be, in the expression of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, "good in every sense of the term." I heard my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, say on several occasions that from a meeting between two Jews, good must result for a third Jew, in addition to the good of the one and the other. I therefore take the liberty of pointing out to you the need for an addition to the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, including in your private life. Indeed, good and holiness know no limit. However good your situation may be, it therefore always remains possible to improve it, for a man is incapable of reaching the end of that which is infinite. And if this is so even outside of Eretz Yisrael*, how much more so is it the case in the land that the men of the entire world call the Holy Land.

One Mitzvah* draws another and the good will that you demonstrate concerning this land in your possession will effectively bring about an addition to your moral needs, in what concerns the Torah*, Torah* of life, and its Mitzvos* of which it is said: "One shall live by them." I address to you my respects and my blessing that you know success in all domains, in particular that the wish of your heart be positively fulfilled (note 5: Perhaps that of having a child), in good health, for long days and good years,

בנועם קבלתי מכתב כתוב עבורו ע"י הוו"ח נו"נ רב פעלים בעל מדות ובעל מרץ כו' מר א. שי' בן נון, ותוכנו.

דרצונו הטוב למסור קרקעות לרשות חב"ד, לתכלית הקמת בתי ספר למלאכה ושיכונים לעובדים חניכים-ות. ורצון טוב זה - הרי מוכיח אשר אינו דרוש לאריכות בגודל ענין חינוך מתאים של הדור הצעיר באה"ק ת"ו, חינוך ברוח חב"די המיוסד, במסגרת כללות תורת החסידות, על הסיסמה אשר אהבת השם, אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל חד הן.

בודאי יכתבו פרטים נוספים בהנוגע לשטח האמור והתאמת הסביבה - להקמת ביסל"מ מסוג מיוחד, או שאין נפקא מינה בזה. כוונתי - שכמה מבתי ספר למלאכה דורשים שטחים נוספים סביבת הבנין, בכדי שיוכלו למלאות תפקידם ככל הדרוש. וכן שאר פרטים הנוגעים בגוף הענין.

ובמיוחד ובפרט עפ"י סעיף ג' אשר במכתבו האמור, אשר מוכנים למסור חלק קרקע להקמת המוסדות עתה, הרי זה מגדיל הכרח ידיעות פרטיות אלו. וכל פירוט יותר בכגון אלו חשוב יותר.

ויהי רצון אשר זכות ענין הכי נעלה הזה, יעמוד לו לכל המצטרך לו בכלל, ובפרט לאריכות ימים ושנים טובות, ובסגנון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע: טובות עם כל הפירושים.

שמעתי מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר כמה פעמים, אשר מפגישת שנים מבני ישראל באה עי"ז טובה גם לעוד מבנ"י, נוסף על טובתם הם.

ועפי"ז מרשה הנני לעצמי לעוררו על הוספה בעניני תורה ומצות גם בחייו הפרטים. והרי בעניני טוב וקדושה, אשר אין סופיים הם, ככל שיהי' המצב טוב - תמיד אפשר להוסיף, שהרי ענין אין סופי אי אפשר לאדם להגיע עד תכליתו, ואם בחו"ל ככל הדברים האלה, עא"כ וכמה נכונים הם בארץ אשר גם בפי כל יושבי תבל נקראת - ארץ הקדושה.

ומצוה גוררת מצוה, אשר רצונו הטוב האמור, בהנוגע לקרקע שלו יגרור גם הוספה בהנוגע לעניניו הנפשיים, עניני התורה תורת חיים, ומצותי' עליהם נאמר וחי בהם.

בכבוד ובברכה אשר יצליח בכל עניניו, ומהם - למילוי משאלות לבבו לטובה מתוך בריאות הנכונה ולאריכות ימים ושנים טובות.
