To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Moshe (note 1: Rav M. Shayevitch, of Chicago. See, on his subject, Letter no. 6616) HaCohen,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of the day during which the word "good" was said twice (note 2: During the creation, that is, its third day, Tuesday), together with what was enclosed therein. At a propitious moment, I will mention your name and that of your wife, may Hashem* grant her long life, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us, so that each of you may obtain the satisfaction of your needs, in accordance with what you write to me. I hope that upon receiving the present letter, your wife will be fully recovered. Regarding her state of health, you must consult two specialist doctors in this domain and comply with their prescriptions. Indeed, "the Torah* has authorized the physician to heal." How much more so is this the case when there are two of them. Various passages of the Shulchan Aruch*, Orach Chaim*, establish the strength of this principle.

And the One Who gives life to all the living will broaden His blessing and His success in all your needs and those of your wife. Thus, for long days and good years, you will strengthen your commitment to the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, in particular to the study of Chassidus* and especially of Chassidus* Chabad*. One confers merit upon a propitious day. Now, this date (note 3: The 24th of Teves*) is that of the Hilloula* of the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Tanya* and Decisor of the hidden part of the Torah*, author of the Shulchan Aruch* and Decisor of the revealed part of the Torah*. With my blessing to convey good news of all this,

ובהנוגע לבריאותו הוא, צריך להתייעץ עם שני רופאים מומחים במקצוע ולעשות כהוראתם. והרי התורה נתנה רשות לרופא לרפאות. ובפרט כשישנה הוראה של שני רופאים, וכמבואר תוקף ענין זה בכ"מ בשו"ע אורח חיים.

ומחי' חיים יוסיף בברכתו והצלחתו בהמצטרך לו ולזוגתו - אשר לאורך ימים ושנים טובות יוסיפו בעניני תורה ומצות, והוא ביחוד בלימוד תורת החסידות דברי אלקים חיים, וביחוד תורת חסידות חב"ד.

ומגלגלין זכות ליום זכאי, לעורר בזה, שהוא יום ההילולא של רבנו הזקן בעל התניא (פוסק בנסתר דתורה) והשו"ע (פוסק בנגלה דתורה).
