Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, with delay, due to the month of Tishrei* and all that it entails, which did not permit doing so earlier. I have great hope that you are continuing your study of the revealed part of the Torah* and of Chassidus*, that more and more you are becoming accustomed to your friends and to the organization of the Yeshiva*.

I return to you herewith the letter you sent me. Of course, it is preferable not to polemicize, for what good is it to exchange questions and answers? The purpose of man, indeed, is to learn, to do, to accomplish, as the Torah* of the living Elokim* commands us. Of course, one must not quarrel with anyone, which Hashem* forbid. One should simply explain that you wish to follow the path of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, just like the thousands of students of the Lubavitch Yeshivos* or of the other Yeshivos* in the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, as well as in the rest of the world. These devote their entire day to sacred studies, as was the practice previously, in the preceding generation. Then, subsequently, when the time comes, they also find the means to earn their livelihood. For He Who gives the Torah* and the Mitzvos* nourishes and sustains the entire world, through His goodness, His grace, His beneficence, and His mercy. It is therefore certain that He will keep His promise, so that: "If you walk in My statutes," according to the interpretation of our Sages* — "making one's efforts bear upon the Torah*" — "and if you keep My Mitzvos*... I shall give you..." all the blessings stated in this Parshah*, as well as success in everything that concerns a person.

May Hashem* grant that you know success in study — that of the Torah* — and in the practice of the Mitzvos*. You will advance from one level to the next, and I have great hope that in the end, your parents will also be satisfied with your conduct. May Hashem* grant that it be so as soon as possible. With my blessing to convey good news of all this,

במענה למכתבו, שנתאחר המענה - מפני חדש תשרי ועניניו שאין הזמן גרמא לזה.

ותקותי חזקה אשר ממשיך בלימוד תורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות, ומתרגל יותר מזמן לזמן עם חבריו שי' ובסדרי הישיבה בכלל.

מוחזר בזה המכתב ששלח אלי, ומובן שמהנכון ביותר שלא יכנס בוויכוחים, כי מה תועלת בטענות ומענות, והרי תפקיד האדם ללמוד לשמור לעשות ולקיים כמצוה עלינו בתורת אלקים חיים, ומובן גם כן שאין צריך להיות ח"ו במחלוקת עם מי שהוא, כי אם לבאר שרוצה ללכת בדרך התורה והמצוה, וכאלפים הלומדים בישיבות ליובאוויטש ובשאר ישיבות הן באה"ק ת"ו והן בחו"ל לומדים לימודי קדש כל היום כולו ועשו כזה בתקופה שלפני זו ובדור שלפני התקופה, וכשבא הזמן והעת מסתדר ג"כ בענין של פרנסה, ובטוח נותן התורה והמצוה שהוא הזן ומפרנס את העולם כולו בטובו בחן ובחסד וברחמים, אשר יקיים הבטחתו, אם בחקתי תלכו (ופירשו רז"ל, שתהיו עמלים בתורה) ואת מצותי תשמרו וגו' ונתתי וגו' ככל הברכות המנויות בפרשה וההצלחה בכל המצטרך לאדם.

ויהי רצון שיצליח בלימודו, לימוד התורה וקיום המצות וילך מחיל אל חיל, ותקותי חזקה גם כן שסוף סוף גם הוריו שי' ישבעו נחת מהנהגתו, ויהי רצון שיהי' זה בהקדם.
