Greetings and blessings,

I was pleased and satisfied to receive your letter of 23 Cheshvan*, with what was enclosed. I thank you very much for the good news, in all the domains to which you allude. May Hashem* grant that you announce to me further good news, always and every day, of a true good, "good for heaven and good for the creatures," of a good that produces fruits, in the expression of tractate Kiddushin* 40a. Fortunate is the lot of all those who make efforts in this regard, and just as it is said that: "he who loves money is never satisfied by his money," may Hashem* grant that you multiply such actions, that you advance from one level to the next, so that he who has one hundred coins desires two hundred — an addition of one hundred — while he who has two hundred desires four hundred — an addition of two hundred. This is self-evident.

You contemplate a trip here for a short period. This seems feasible (note 1: See, on this subject, Letter no. 6664) only during the holiday period, but not in the middle of the year (note 2: The recipient of this letter is a Yeshiva* student). No doubt you will detail all of this in your next letters. I am somewhat surprised and concerned that you make no reference to what I had written you previously — namely, that you must set an example of constancy and ardor in study within the framework of your Yeshiva*. Thus, in the era of the early Chassidim*, those who were to spread the wellsprings (note 3: Of Chassidus*) in certain circles were chosen from among the erudite scholars, possessing the greatest constancy, so that this spreading would be fruitful — which also means that their approach proceeded, first of all, through the revealed part of the Torah*.

You are surely preparing a suitable and detailed program, in order to make the most of the days of the month of Kislev* in general, of its propitious days, the 10th and the 19th, in particular, and of Chanukah* which follows them, to spread the wellsprings until they reach the outside. With my blessing to convey good news of all this, so that: "you shall spread forth."

בנועם ובענג קר;63637#&אתי מכתבו מכ"ג חשון עם המצורף אליו, ות"ח ת"ח על הבשורה טובה בכל אותם השטחים אודותם כותב. ויהי רצון שיזכה לבשר טוב תכה"י בטוב האמיתי טוב לשמים וטוב לבריות, טוב העושה פירות (קדושין מ' ע"א), ואשרי חלקם של כל אלו המשתדלים בזה, ויהי רצון כמה שנאמר אוהב כסף לא ישבע כסף, הנה יוסיפו בפעולות האמורות וילכו מחיל אל חיל באופן דמי שיש לו מנה רוצה מאתים (הוספה של מנה) אבל מי שיש לו מאתים רוצה ד' מאות, הוספה של ב' מנה, וק"ל...

במ"ש אודות נסיעה לכאן, למשך תקופה קצרה - לכאורה שאלה זו ענינה נסיעה בזמן דחגים ומועדים, משא"כ באמצע השנה, ובטח יפרט יותר במכתביו הבאים.

לפלא קצת וגם מדאיג קצת מה שאינו כותב ע"ד מה שכתבתי לו מ;63637#&אז, שעליו להיות דוגמא חי' בהתמדה ושקידה בהתאם לסדרי ישיבתו בלימוד, וע"ד הנהגה בזמן חסידים הראשונים, שאלו שתפקידם הי' בהפצת המעינות בחוגים מסוימים, נבחרו מבין הלומדים והשקדנים להצלחת הפצה זו קשורה היתה בזה שגישתם התחילה בעניני לימוד בתורת הנגלה כו'. ובטח גם עד"ז ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה, ויהי רצון שתהיינה הבשו"ט שעולה מחיל אל חיל גם בזה, שמלבד גודל הענין מצד עצמו, הרי גם זה קשור בעבודתו האמורה, כנ"ל.

בטח מכינים תכנית מתאימה מפורטת לנצול ימי חדש כסלו בכלל וימי הסגולה יו"ד י"ט בפרט וחנוכה שאחריו להפצת המעינות עד שיגיעו גם חוצה.
